Town, woods and beaches

How many gymnasia have access to 10 kilometres of bathing beaches, where students and teachers can enjoy themselves on the annual sports day? Nyborg Gymnasium lies only a kilometre from one of Denmark’s prettiest and varied coastlines. Seaside beech forests mingle with meadows and charming holiday cottage areas - to tempt you to a swim in summer and a brisk walk in winter.

Nyborg is one of our oldest market towns - in fact it was Denmark’s ancient "capital" from 1200 to 1413. Due to it’s central position Nyborg has become a traffic junction and an attractive site for many institutions, firms and organised events.

Young people in Nyborg have no need to be bored! All popular and less popular sports are practised here - swimming pool, aqualand, tennis hall, tennis courts, bowling centre, football stadium, an 18-hole golf course, sailing facilities, rowing and surfing are obvious attractions.

Nyborg can also offer a flourishing music life, with concerts and a music school, while Nyborg Voldspil (Open Air Theatre) is renowned for it’s summer musicals. The town also possesses several discotheques.

Nyborg then has all that one can wish for, but should billiards, badminton, music and the rest prove inadequate Odense is just 15 minutes away by train - and should the capital’s city lights bewitch you, you can be in the "new" Copenhagen in a mere 75 minutes.
