Living at a boarding school
There are many reasons for pursuing your education while living at a
boarding school. You may wish to exert your independence or share
experiences with other young people.
You may come from one of the small islands or other places with
difficult traffical access to school. Your parents may be resident abroad,
but you wish to take a Danish Studentereksamen or the
International
Baccalaureate (IB) in Denmark.
Two things are fundamental for living and working at a boarding school.
One concerns your school education. The other is the mutual respect and
tolerance necessary for some 113 young people to share the same building in
a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Individual students shoul feel secure
yet have the opportunity to develop their personality. It is such values
as these we wish to promote. Freedom with respnsibility may sound like a
trite phrase, but it really means something for Nyborg Gymnasium’s
boarding school.
There are boarding school staff on duty at all hours, so a responsible
adult can always be contacted. During school hours there is the
housekeeper. After school hours until next morning there is a teacher on
duty. Close cooperation between staff of school and boarding school
guarantee fruitful conditions for the students educational and personal
development.
It is difficult to paint a concrete picture of a boarding school - but
if you are interested, you are very welcom to contact us. You can come and
talk to staff and teachers, and with the students who already live here -
they may be your future friends!
