What is special about the boarding school in Nyborg?
The aim of our home page is to give you an idea of daily life at the boarding
school and the principles on which it is based.
118 of Nyborg Gymnasium’s students live at the boarding school and they
are to be found in every school class. The boarding school is their home while
they study for their final examination. We make every effort to see that
conditions at the boarding school are conducive both to their schoolwork and to
their leisure time. Each student has his own room, but there are also common
rooms designed for more social activity. There is a homework room and Internet
access from the school’s central computer rooms, as well as from individual
rooms. The three main meals of the day are taken together with all the other
boarders. The calendar is marked by traditional activities, such as theatre
visits and parties, and by events of a more spontaneous nature. There is always
a teacher present to help and to guide.
Boarders exercise influence on the daily life of the boarding school on the
basis of respect for individual differences and willingness to ensure the smooth
running of communal activites; and we expect them to shoulder their share of
responsibility to this end.
